Product DetailsI knew Susan was a practicing Catholic and I wanted to see if she witnessed to this in her book or left it out as many celebrities do.  Susan has stayed true to who she is and if you want to know how God works in our lives today, if you know how to listen and trust, then read this book.  Susan is funny and honest.  Her prayer at the end of the book is so sincere.  Sign this out in room 319.

Mother Teresa-Come Be My Light (Brian Kolodiejchuk, M.C.)Front Cover-It's a New York Times Bestseller! I wanted to read the personal writings of this saint to see what she could teach me.  I have learned so much of what it means to be truly be in love with Jesus and what it means to surrender to the will of God.

Dead Man Walking-I had the chance to meet Sr. Helen Prejean in May of 2010 and have her sign our school copy of Dead Man Walking.  This book was made into a motion picture starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn and is a witness to the power of forgiveness, the violation of human dignity and the power of advocacy in the name of Jesus Christ.  Read the book (Chaplaincy Library) and get involved in the campaign.

Left to Tell Left To Tell- Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust (Art Steffler Library)

This book is authored by Immaculee Ilibagiza who boldly retells the true story of her survival of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

"Immacule grew up in a country she loved, surrounded by a family she cherished. But in 1994 her idyllic world was ripped apart as Rwanda descended into a bloody genocide. Her family was brutally murdered during a killing spree that lasted three months and claimed the lives of nearly a million Rwandans. Miraculously, Immaculee survived the slaughter. For 91 days, she and seven other women huddled silently together in the cramped bathroom of a local pastor's home while hundreds of machete-wielding killers hunted for them. It was during those endless hours of unspeakable terror that Immaculee discovered the power of prayer, eventually shedding her fear of death and forging a profound and lasting relationship with God. She emerged from her bathroom hideout having truly discovered the meaning of unconditional love-a love so strong that she was able to seek out and forgive her family's killers."

Immacule placed trust in Our Lady through the rosary prayer. I encourage you to read this. It will inspire you to believe that in God, anything is possible!
