 Philosophy of Healthy Active Living

The open courses in Grade 9, 10, 11, and 12 are all identified as Healthy Active Living Education(HALE) courses.  In these courses the emphasis is on regular participation in a variety of enjoyable physical activities that promote lifelong healthy active living.  Through the achievement of the Ministry and the Ontario Catholic School Graduate expectations the student will apply movement principles to refine skills; participate in a variety of activities that enhance personal competence, fitness, and health; examine issues related to healthy sexuality, healthy eating, substance use and abuse; mental health and informed decision-making, conflict resolution, and social skills in making personal choices.  Aspects of this course include career education, community resources, and education for exceptional students.
