Advanced Placement (AP) Program
The Advanced Placement Program is offered to students of St. Joseph Secondary School as a means to further prepare them for the post secondary studies. Administered by the College Board, the same organization that administers SATs, the AP curriculum and exam is designed based on numerous years of preparation and input from high school teachers and university professors. The Advanced Placement Program allows students the opportunity to take University level courses and exams while still in high school through an integrated curriculum.
There are 35 courses in 19 subject areas, offered by nearly 14,000 secondary schools around the world; Students that would like the opportunity to write an AP exam are encouraged to consult with a teacher in their particular field of interest.
The Advanced Placement courses offered at St. Joseph for the 2011-2012 school year will be:
Grade 12:

A minimum mark of 80% is recommended in the prerequisite course in order to be eligible to enrol in an AP course. |
The majority of courses are offered in Semester One. Exams are written during the first two weeks of May. Classes can be cancelled based on enrollment.
