1. St. Joseph “Seize the Day” Award – recognizes the student who demonstrates exemplary leadership within our school community and has maintained honour standing.
2. Principal’s Community Service Award – Presented to the graduating student who makes a sustained contribution to community service, above and beyond the requirements for graduation.
3. Students of the Year Award – Co-sponsored by Josten’s Canada and is presented to the graduating students, male and female, who have excelled in all areas of school life: academics, service to others, and co-curricular.
4. Most Improved Student of the Year – Co-sponsored by Pace Credit Union and is presented to a student who has demonstrated exceptional commitment in overcoming challenges to adopt a renewed focus towards academic success.
5. Oscar Romero Award – Sponsored by the teachers of Dufferin-Peel Secondary Unit and is given to a graduating student who challenges the status quo for the improvement of the human condition and social justice in their community.
6. The Ontario Catholic Schools Trustees Association Award – presented annually to a student who best exemplifies outstanding leadership, commitment, responsibility and achievement in his/her home, school and community.
7. Ed King Scholarship Award – Presented in memory of Ed King, a former principal in Dufferin-Peel, it is awarded to the graduating student pursuing post-secondary education who best exemplifies through academic excellence, extra-curricular involvement and Christian commitment to Mr. King’s motto: “Take a risk, get involved, be committed”.
8. St. Joseph S.S. Staff Award – presented to the student who has demonstrated a spirit of leadership in concerns of social justice and peace.
9. ST. Joseph Parish/Mother Teresa Service Award – Sponsored by the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board and given to a student who demonstrates “exemplary service in student leadership” in school-wide events that provide assistance to those in need in our communities.
10. Knights of Columbus Award – Presented to one male and one female student who have been models for living our Catholic Christian values.
11. The Valedictorian Award – Sponsored by the Streetsville Rotary Club and is presented to a student who is chosen by their graduating class to be valedictorian.
12. The OYAP Award – The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program Award – sponsored by the Streetsville Rotary Club, is given to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to the cooperative education program, is a signed apprenticeship student and will be pursuing an apprenticeship placement.
13. The Business Award – is presented to a student who will be pursuing a Business program at the college level.
14. The Drs. Andrew and Joan Simone Business Award – is presented to one female and one male student who have demonstrated strong Christian Leadership in our school and community; strong academic performance and will be pursuing business commerce or business related studies in a university setting.
15. The Planning For Independence Award – is given to a student who is in his/her final year of high school and in the planning for independence program.
16. The Mirror Award – presented to the editor of the school newspaper (if applicable).
17. St. Joseph Yearbook Award – sponsored by the yearbook company and presented to a student who has shown sustained commitment to the design, development and production of the yearbook.
18. The Canadian Stage Award/Living Arts Centre Award – is given to a student who shows appreciation for the art form in its entirety.
19. The Art Gallery of Ontario Award – is presented to the student who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in Visual Arts throughout high school and is pursuing a post-secondary Visual Arts Program.
20. Royal Conservatory of Music Award – is presented to a student who demonstrates leadership, initiative and heightened appreciation for this art form in its entirety.
21. The Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario Award – is given to a student who typifies the objectives of a Catholic school. The student is honoured at the Father Fogarty dinner in October and receives a certificate and a book, which is donated to the school’s library in the student’s honour.
22. The Lieutenant Governor Community Volunteer Award – is a unique and specially designed commemorative pin produced in Ontario’s official colours of green and gold. It recognizes an exemplary volunteer among graduating students of each of Ontario’s approximately 1.100 secondary schools.
23. The Principal’s Purple and Proud Award – is an award chosen strictly by the Principal. It is presented to two students, male and female, in their final year of high school that have been instrumental in promoting a positive school spirit and a genuine love for their community. These students have shared their gifts and talents and have participated in all aspects of school life.
24. Charlotte E. Gentile Memorial Courage Award - awarded to the student who has demonstrated "courage in facing adversity in the form of pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation and has been an inspiration and role model for others".
25. The Cathy Parker Memorial Art Award. Cathy Parker is lovingly remembered for her contributions to the Visual and Performing Arts Department at our school. Mrs. Parker passed away in May 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. During her 8 year battle, Mrs. Parker found peace and grace in creating art. Mrs. Parker helped so many students along their own journey as they honed their passion for the creative process. This memorial is awarded to a student whose passion for visual arts is apparent.
26. The Hazel McCallion Bursary Award – is an annual bursary honouring Mayor McCallion upon her 25th year of leadership in the City of Mississauga. It is given to a graduating student who has achieved the highest mark in Grade 12 Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (BOH 4M).
27. The University of Toronto Book Award – presented to a student who is nominated by his or her school as best meeting the criteria of superior academic performance; original and creative thought; and exceptional achievement in a broad context.
28. The Thomas J. Reilly Scholarship Award – presented to a student who demonstrates excellence in the study of modern languages and chooses to continue this study at a post-secondary institution.
29. The Canadian Citizenship Award (pending) – presented to the student who has achieved personal academic success while contributing to the school and larger community in a significant way.
30. The Virtues Award – sponsored by the School Advisory Council, this award is presented to two students (male and female) who best exemplify the virtues of faith, empathy, conscience, hope, self control, respect, kindness, love, acceptance and fairness.
