There is a scholarship out there for everyone.  They are awarded at all levels for students of all disciplines and backgrounds.  Academic achievement and high marks are not always mandatory for eligibility. 

 

The Trustees Award:
This is a school sponsored award.  It is presented annually to the student with the highest academic average for grade 9.
 
The Joe Hugel Award:
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board established the Joe Hugel Award in honour of its first Director of Education.  It is a Board sponsored award and is presented annually to a grade 10 student with the highest academic average.
 
The Superintendent's Award:
This is a school sponsored award. It is presented annually to the student with the highest academic average for grade 11.
 
The Governor General's Bronze Medal Award:
This is a school sponsored award.  It is presented annually to the student with the highest academic average for grade 12.

Aiming for the Top Queen Elizabeth II Merit Scholarship

 

Any student who is planning on attending university or college and has an 80% average is entitled to automatically qualify for a $100.00 Basic Merit Scholarship through the Queen Elizabeth II Aiming for the Top Scholarship Program.  It is not directly linked to OSAP, even though it is accessed through the OSAP website and can be downloaded at http://osap.gov.on.ca.  It is worth taking only a few minutes to fill out the application form!
