Nurturing a Catholic Christian Community
The school works in partnership with the church. We are privileged and proud to be members of St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish and are fortunate to have Fr. Patrick O'Dea visit the school to celebrate the Eucharist, share in liturgies and to administer the sacraments.
Mass and Liturgies are celebrated throughout the year in our school's gymnasium and individual classrooms. We also recognize special days/events such as the Feast Day of St. Isaac Jogues, Opening of the school Year, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Advent, Easter, Catholic Education Week, the Crowning of Mary and the closing of the school year. All of our students participate in these celebrations and parents are invited to attend. As well, our Faith Ambassadors organize and facilitate 3 school wide Retreats - Advent, Lent and CEW. In addition there are regular opportunities for daily prayer services through morning scripture and prayer over the P.A. system, classroom retreats, recitations of the rosary Apostolate in the schools who will be visiting all grades on a monthly basis to recite and understand the rosary.
St. Isaac Jogues School Faith Ambassadors facilitate opportunites for adult Faith development within the school community. Teachers, staff and administration are invited to attend retreats and liturgies designed to enrich our faith community and strengthen our common bonds. Again this year, we have established Youth Faith Ambassadors and welcomed students from grade 6-8 to participate. Monthly staff liturgies have also become a tradition for us.
