H.O.P.E.

Helping Other People Everywhere

HOPE website

We have been involved in major projects around and beyond our community, we realize the need to help others.  New members are welcome to join. We meet every Tuesday after school in room 141.

We hope to see you there.

H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere) is back and making a difference in the lives of other people. The first few meetings included getting-to-know-you activities as well as the brainstorming of ideas for charity projects throughout the year.

The group quickly engaged in a hands-on activity tending to the peace garden in front of

the school. Club members laughed and made new friends as they weeded, watered and planted flowers to provide a peaceful space for relaxation and reflection during the busy day.

H.O.P.E. also turned the cafeteria into a giant bakery, as members formed teams to bake

chocolate chip cookies, rice krispie treats, fudge and some of Ms Heist’s famous recipes from

scratch. The next day, the club hosted a bake sale and raised over $300 to sponsor children in India.

In October, the club made Hallowe’en crafts and visited the Carmel Heights retirement

community residence to spend time with theseniors.

Culturefest 2010

The H.O.P.E. club is excited to announce that Culturefest will return this spring.

Mark Thursday, May 6, 2010 on your calendars.

Plan to spend an evening tasting a variety of delicious foods from many countries and watching entertainment by dancers and singers of various cultures. You may also want to donate your time and resources to a pavilion by providing cultural food and artifacts.

Stay tuned for more details.
