Requirements for admission to university:

  • 6 grade 12 U or M courses (including ENG 4U1)
  • Prerequisite for all university programs is ENG 4U1
  • Some programs require additional prerequisites (e.g. Math and Sciences) depending upon the program
  • Minimum average in the top 6 grade 12 U or M courses (could include prerequisites, dependent on individual university policy) should be at least 75% or more, depending on the program

 

 

It is the students' responsibility to research the program requirements and ensure that they qualify.  Go to University Research Checklist for a list of steps and guidelines in the research process.

 

Note that colleges also offer bachelor degree programs where the requirements are the same as for university degree programs, as outlined above.  For more information, go to College Degrees.

 

Important Dates

  • Fall 2011 - Research universities and programs using eINFO at http://www.electronicinfo.ca  Attend the Ontario Universities Fair in Toronto and the university presentations at Loyola.  Also, research college degrees.

 

  • Tuesday, September 20, 2011 - Grade 12 graduation / university / college information assembly at Loyola

 

  • October 14 - 16, 2011 - Ontario Universities Fair at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto.  For more information, go to www.ouf.ca  

 

  • November 23, 2011 – Last day for grade 12 students to drop semester 1 courses for marks not to appear on transcript 

 

  • January 11, 2012Ontario university application deadline. The earlier you apply, the better; applications can be modified after submission.  Apply online at www.ouac.on.ca/101

 

  • February 7, 2012 - Recommended last date to submit all information to OUAC, including university and program changes as well as additional active choices, to be eligible for consideration for early admission.  Changes will continue to be accepted and processed by OUAC after this date.

 

  • April 30, 2012 - Last day for grade 12 students to drop semester 2 courses for marks not to appear on transcript 

 

  • Early June - August - The Admission Information Service is available at OUAC for applicants not admitted by June.
