Stained Glass Windows
The series of stained glass seen in the chapel entitled, “The Vine” is inspired by many of the Catholic symbols important to our school community. Within this series, the body and blood is symbolized through the fish and loaves, as well as the chalice (blood) and Eucharist. These symbols are viewed within the creation story that rises out of the waters of baptism. Next we see our school symbol (the symbol of Saint Marcellinus which is worn on the hearts of all our students) rise out of the book of life. As we look ever upward, we see the flame of the Holy Spirit as well as the light from the Dove of Peace shining brightly through the darkness that surrounds our world. The series of four panes are united by the vine of life that winds its way upward to the heavens. It serves to symbolize our own personal journey with Christ. In essence, as it winds, and grows in faith and love, bending in and out of the darkness, its ultimate and perpetual growth is always towards heaven and Our Lord.
