St. Martin Secondary Important Updates

Community Hours Form

All incoming grade 9's .....

Welcome to St. Martin!!! Below are important forms for the Get Ready program.

Get Ready! August 29 – September 2nd, 2016 8:17am -12:17 pm.
"Get Ready!" is designed to provide a successful transition into their secondary program by providing them with an opportunity to review key concepts in literacy and numeracy, as well as introducing effective learning strategies and organizational skills. The program also consists of orientation to the secondary school including an overview of secondary programs, schedules, school layout and practices. As students will be participating from a number of elementary schools, this initiative will also allow our incoming Grade 9s to establish connections with their new peer group, senior mentors, and members of the secondary faculty. The 16 hour program will be delivered by secondary teachers at St. Martin Catholic Secondary School and will run August 29 – September 2, 2016 from 8:17 a.m. - 12:17p.m.
Get Ready is open to all incoming Grade 9 students no matter the elementary school they are coming from. Students will have the opportunity to meet and mix with most, if not almost all their incoming peers in a 3 period structured day that will culminate with a BBQ on the last day.
Students are reminded that although a light snack will be provided, they are encouraged to bring a lunch.
Please contact Ms. L. DiGennaro if there are any concerns.

Regional Drumline Competition!!!!

Good morning mustangs. As you all know, last Friday we hosted the GTA Drumline Regional competition, and thanks to the entire community it was a great success. We had a total of nine teams competing in all divisions. We are proud to announce that our very own mustangs placed first in our division against 4 other teams with their highest score ever of 86.7!  Please congratulate your fellow mustangs as they go on to compete at the Ontario Provincial Drumline Championships on May 28th at St. Michael's in Toronto. A special thank you goes out to The AV crew, SAC, Mr Nixon and his culinary class, the administration team, custodial staff, and a big thank you to our St. Martin staff and students, for it was because of all of you that this day was possible! Once again, thank you!
