St. Martin Athletic Letter & Honour Athletic Award

 

These awards are based on the accumulation of points earned from grades 9-12.  Each athlete is responsible for tracking their own points and submitting this form to the Phys. Ed office by the deadline in order to qualify for the award.

 

To be eligible for the Athletic Letter Award, you must earn 130 points.

To be eligible for the Honour Athletic Letter Award, you must earn 180 points.


 

10 POINTS

 

The season is at least 2 months long and involves 2-5 practices/games/tournaments per week.  Practices should make up at least 50% of the time spent with the team.

 

Sports include:

Basketball Curling Flag Football Football
Hockey Soccer Track & Field Volleyball

 


6 POINTS

 

The season is less than 2 months and/or there are less than 3 practices, games, tournaments per week. 

 

Sports include:

Badminton Baseball Cross Country
Softball Swimming Ultimate Frisbee

 


4 POINTS

 

The season consists of a few practices and ends with a one or two day tournament.

 

Sports include:

Golf Tennis Skiing

 


 

Additional points will be awarded for each of the following:

 

10 POINTS:         

a) awarded Athlete of the Year

b) winning a ROPSSAA championship (and/or SOSSA championship)

c) winning an OFSSA championship

d) an academic average of 75% or higher (must be verified by Guidance Department)

 

5 POINTS:

a) awarded an MVP award


 

Fill in the chart found here, total your points, and ensure all coaches’ signatures are obtained.  Indicate with a check mark in the appropriate column if you were an MVP or won a championship.  Once your chart is complete, please submit it to the Phys. Ed office as early as possible.
