Stage 2 ~ACCESSING

¨       Try different keywords to focus

       searches.

¨       Explore a variety of resources.

¨       Use the computer as an access tool.

¨       Track searches on an organizer

¨       Select the best and most suitable.

¨       Save / print digital abstracts, list.

¨        Collaborate with others to share your findings.

 

Stage 3 ~ PROCESSING

                 INFORMATION

¨       Make value judgements.

¨       Record only information to answer your questions or support your thesis.

¨       Use organizers & headings to sort & record.

¨       Record all sources of  information

¨       carefully.

¨       Test ideas to adjust research  and strategies.

¨       Record own thoughts, ideas.

¨       Synthesize findings.

w        Formulate conclusions.

 

Stage 4 ~ TRANSFER

                 LEARNING

¨       Leave lots of time to prepare essays, reports, and class presentations.

¨       Consider needs and constraints of:

·         Your assignment

·         Your time

·         Your resources

·         Your format

·         Your strengths and interests

·         Your audience.

¨       Use computer software techniques.

¨       Practice class presentation, keyboard drafts.
