Bus Safety

Please ensure that your child knows the bus he/she is supposed to ride.  For their own safety children are expected to obey the following rules:

  • Do not stand on the road while waiting for the bus.
  • Enter the bus in a single line without pushing or shoving.
  • Remain seated while the bus is moving.
  • Talk quietly.
  • Do not eat or drink on the bus.
  • Obey the bus driver and the bus patroller at all times.
  • Keep head and arms inside the window.
  • Wait for the driver’s signal and then cross the street in front of the bus.

Additional bus safety information is available in "Preparing your kindergarten child to ride the school bus," a fact sheet for parents. A copy is available in the "Parents Boost Learning" section of the Peel board's website at www.peelschools.org and on the "Student Transportation" section of the Dufferin-Peel board's website at www.dpcdsb.org.

Kiss and Ride Program

This program is in place to assist parents/guardians/caregivers to drop off and pick up their children in a designated lane of traffic. Parents/guardians/caregivers should ONLY drop-off or pick-up students in the Designated Kiss & Ride area at the side of the school.  Access to the Kiss & Ride lane and Visitor parking is from Long Meadow Road and is available before school in the morning.  When using the Kiss 'n Ride, please stay in your car.  Stay in the correct lane and move up as cars leave.  If you need to get out of your car, park in the parent parking lot.

Please! You and your child should cross at the front of the Kiss 'n Ride lane.  Do not walk between the cars.

Note: We now have students exiting the west end doors of the school. For reasons of safety the Kiss 'n Ride lane is closed after school.  Please park in the parent parking lot (off Long Meadow Rd.)or on Long Meadow Rd. if you are picking up students by car.

Do not use the parking lot at the front of the school.
It is for buses only.

For reasons of student safety the driveway access from Lexington Road, and the front parking lot, are ONLY for School Buses and Staff.
