Dufferin-Peel Catholic board offers online kindergarten chat/information sessions for parents
On January 19 and January 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will offer parents of incoming Kindergarten children an online chat/information session where they will receive a general overview of Kindergarten through a Catholic lens and the opportunity to ask questions and receive real time responses via an online chat room.
“We call these sessions KinderParent Chat and they are great opportunities for parents to ask questions and learn about school life, expectations and supports available for their children as they begin their educational experience,” said Marianne Mazzorato, Superintendent of Early Years and Community Partnerships/Relationships.
“Parents can log in in to an online chat room and board staff will respond in real time,” said Mazzorato. “Frequently asked questions and responses will be archived and posted on the board website for later reference.” Added Mazzorato, “We are asking parents to log on to our website at www.dpcdsb.org and take a very short survey to indicate their area of interest.”
To take the survey, register for a KinderParent Chat session and receive login information, visit the board website at www.dpcdsb.org, click on the Kindergarten Registration icon and then the KinderParent Chat link and follow the instructions on the page.
Kindergarten registration takes place at all Dufferin-Peel elementary schools on January 26 between 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Snow Date: January 27, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.) and January 28, 29 and 30 between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
