Family Literacy Program: talk.read.play.sing!
Free workshops for families offered by the Region of Peel
At St. Nicholas Catholic Elementary School
This year St. Nicholas will continue to provide space for the Region of Peel to provide families with free Family Literacy Workshops. Family Literacy Workshops will increase parents’ knowledge and understanding of early literacy activities for children ages 0-6 years. Parents and children will work together on an activity related to a particular topic, and end with a story and nursery rhymes. The early years (0-6) is the most critical time for development, and is significant to a child’s educational success. Parents / guardians are encouraged to consider participating in this worthwhile program.
The workshops will take place in the school’s Library every Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. starting October 4th and running 9 weeks.
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.
You may register for the program by calling 905-791-1585 or online at http://www.peelregion.ca/children/
