MURAL BLESSING
Most Reverend Bishop Boissonneau blesses the mural entitled, Remembering the Past - Embracing the Future.

OPENING REMARKS
We begin this evening with the sound of a school bell. This bell belongs to Irene Byrne who was a teacher in the original school house back in the 1930s. In a classroom and in a school, the ringing of the bell is a call to learning. In the community of Wildfield, the Sunday bell, which can be heard regularly week in and week out at St. Patrick Church, is a call to gather for worship. How fortunate we are as a Catholic School, as St. Patrick Catholic School, to ring this bell and be called to both learning and worship under the same roof. Faith formation and academic learning are quilted together in a seamless fabric we call Catholic Education.
CHURCH / HOME / SCHOOL
The Fabric of Catholic Education
Processions to and from St. Patrick Church and St. Patrick School over the past 100 years is a visual sign and expression of our faith relationship rooted in Christ and the Church. Together, in relationship with church, home, and school, academic excellence rooted in Christ, has flourished over the years. Being ‘formed’ and ‘informed’ within a Catholic Community, graduates of St. Patrick School have been ‘called’ to become ‘discerning believers’ and 'responsible contributors' to transforming our local and global community.

VIDEO PRESENTATION
A video presentation, depicting the past and embracing the future, celebrated Catholic Education. Today, in Ontario, over one million parents choose Catholic Education for their children. We honour the church, priests, nuns, bishops, parishioners and trustees who dedicated their lives to Catholic Education.
The video presentation also paid tribute to the hundreds of teachers who touched the lives of thousands of students over the years.
