** IDC 4U Leadership for 2010 - 2011 If you are currently in grade 11 and looking for some real leadership experience for your resume and/or for your future career choose Interdisciplinary Studies (IDC) for next year.  Please click on the attachment below for more information.   IDC 4U Information   ** Students Score Big with Apple Certified Final Cut Pro Training Students enrolled in this semester’s Broadcasting High Skills Major Program took a five day hiatus from their regular duties to take part in Apple’s Certified Pro Application Training from December 14 -18. The workshop, which was delivered by Apple Master Trainer Darrin Sayewich, provided students with detailed lectures in professional film & video editing programs such as Final Cut Pro, Motion and DVD Studio Pro. Funding for the training was provided by the Ministry of Education and Dufferin-Peel Board, through the Student Success Strategy initiative. The Apple Certified Pro program creates a benchmark for assessing an enduser’s proficiency in a specific Apple Pro application. By taking and passing the Apple Certified Pro exam, these students will be given Apple Certified Pro status, which will allow them to distinguish themselves to colleges, universities, employers, and future clients as skilled users of the chosen software application. This certification in Final Cut Pro will give these students a competitive edge in today’s ever changing job market. Two students from this group, Greg Leclair and Marie Tacbas scored 92% and 93% respectively on the end-user exam (which requires an 80% grade or better to pass) and became the youngest male and female in the world to achieve Certified Pro status, in Final Cut Pro 7 from Apple.
