GUIDANCE

Please be aware that if you are giving or receiving Community Service hours through school related activities, it is the responsibility of the teacher in charge and the student to put the total amount of completed  hours, in writing. Students then bring these signed green forms or their booklets to the Student Services area. The guidance counsellor will then sign them for the secretary to input. After these are submitted the hours will be displayed in the area called "Community Involvement" at the top of  your Credit Counselling Summary.

The New Ontario Secondary School Curriculum is designed to be "Destination" based. Students must determine as early as Grade 9, what their "destination" will be after completing secondary school. The "Pathway" is the individual route each student selects in order to arrive at their "Destination". In Grade 9 and 10, students choose courses within an Applied, Academic or Essential "Stream".

The choices in Grade 9 and 10 lead them into a "Pathway" in Grade 11 and 12. The Pathways' are: Workplace, Apprenticeship, College, University/College. University Students are encouraged to research and investigate various College, University and apprenticeship program requirements before selecting their courses.
