SCHOOL COUNCIL

 

Provincial legislation governs the creation and operations of school councils in every school board in the province. A number of specific positions are recommended for election on each school council and those are normally elected or acclaimed at the first meeting of the school year, All parents or guardians of students at St. Paul are entitled to seek any of the posted positions and are welcome to attend any and all meetings of the school council. School councils act in an advisory capacity to the school administration and as an extremely important sounding board for potential initiatives. School councils will inevitably discuss the issues of the day as they play themselves out in Ministry, and Board policy and procedures. The elected/acclaimed positions on school council are : Chair(s), Secretary, Treasurer, Parish Rep. (St. Dominic’s), Teacher Rep, Non-Teaching Rep.
