Other Initiatives
Bottled Water Free Day-March 11, 2011
To promote the use of reusable water bottles and the use of our municipal water supply instead of single use water bottles that are purchased.Water bottle use is being tracked each week with the class having the best overall average winning a movie and popcorn party. The overall trend of water bottle usage was an increase to a high of 112 bottles.
Reduce, Reuse, Send Project
An Intermediate Division initiative that promotes environmental stewardship and social awareness. Milk bags are crocheted into sleeping mats and are sent to developing countries. One mat has been completed and the girls continue to make yarn out of the milk bags collected.
Earth Hour-March 26, 2011
A global campaign to slow climate change. We will be saving energy at school by turning off all unnecessary light and electrical devices for one hour. Community participation was GREAT!! Over 100 families signed their pledge cards and returned them to school. Way to go St. Peter School community!!
