PARENTS' CORNER
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the 2011 Catholic Parent Conference Committee, we would like to invite you to join us at our Board’s 4th Annual Catholic Parent Conference. This year’s conference will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Oakville (124 Dorval Drive) on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
The Conference will begin with a Mass, to be celebrated by Father Ray Modeski, Dean of Halton, followed by Keynote Speaker Chris D’Souza, who will examine the impact of recent immigration trends on Catholic Education in Ontario, as well as explore the Ministry of Education’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy. Chris has conducted over 3,000 Equity and Anti-Oppression workshops and is the Founder and Chair of the Equity Summit Group, a collaborative of over 26 school board equity representatives.
This year, there are a variety of parent workshops to choose from with themes that will be of interest to all parents.
Registration is FREE and is NOW open, but space is limited, so please don’t hesitate! Registration will close on October, 29, 2011.
To learn more about the conference and to register, please visit the Board’s website at: http://www.hcdsb.org/Parents/parent-conference.
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s conference!
