Pocock Book Team
Do you enjoy reading?
Do you have opinions about what you’ve read
– and enjoy sharing them?
Does it make you happy when a friend thanks you for recommending a book and tells you it was really good?
If you answered yes to these questions,
then the Pocock Book Team needs YOU!
Book Team members:
& work with Miss Dillon and Mrs. Roane
& to create a “reading culture” at Pocock
& by modelling reading for pleasure, writing book reviews, giving book talks, creating displays (select the activities that interest you).
Book Team members can:
& earn up to 20 volunteer hours
o book review 1 hour
o book talk 1 hour
o display, existing idea 1 hour
o display, original idea 2 hours
o guidelines, forms, etc. will be available on web site/from Miss Dillon
& recommend books the School Library should buy (and then be the first person to borrow them!);
& earn a reference for job applications.
What about meetings?
Book Team members work individually with Miss Dillon and Mrs. Roane. If you want to chat about books with a group of fellow readers, then check out the Book Group, which meets in the School Library every Wednesday during lunch periods (you bring lunch, the School Library provides dessert).
