ADMINISTRATIVE MEETINGS WITH THE PASTORAL TEAM OF STS. PETER AND PAUL CHURCH:

There are 3 yearly meetings (September, January, and June) held at the Parish Hall. In addition there are occasional in-school meetings between the principal and parish priests. The focus is to learn about changes and directions from the church as they pertain to Catholic schools.

SOCIAL ACTION: As a community of faith, we show our compassion and generosity by giving to those in need. We will continue to look for opportunities to demonstrate our commitment to Jesus and his ministry through community service projects. By reaching out to others, students are encouraged to become thoughtful and caring members of the community and to appreciate the importance of social justice and stewardship.

Some of the school social action and outreach programs include:

Food and Personal Items drives at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

United Way and ShareLife Dress Down Fridays.

Dance-a-thon for sharelife.

Toonie for Autism

Terry Fox Run (Marathon of Hope)

Staff Adopt a Christmas Family

YOUTH FAITH AMBASSADORS: We are very proud of the tradition at Sts. Peter and Paul School of reaching out to those in our community and around the world who are in need. Through the initiative of our staff, young people, and parent community we live the gospel message, giving of ourselves to better the lives of others.

We will continue the work of our Youth Faith Ambassadors this year who are instrumental in spearheading these initiatives in our school.

VIRTUE FORMATION: Virtue Formation is increased by two things: practice and prayer.

By practicing the virtues, we develop habits of goodness that help us to resist the temptation of vice. Practicing virtue also gets us ready to contribute to the good of all people. In a school community, virtue formation contributes to a healthy positive learning environment by fostering a climate in which all members feel safe, confident and hope-filled about themselves, their relationships and their futures.

By praying, we receive the grace of god to continue to concentrate on finding ways to follow Jesus' example in all that we say and do.
