Visitors to the School

Our School Board has a responsibility and a desire to make our school safe for all of our students and has developed a policy to ensure the safety of our students from unwelcome visitors and intruders.

At Sts. Peter and Paul School we are, with the support of our parents, committed to providing a safe environment for our students.  At the school we have implemented policies and procedures to make the school a safe place by limiting access to the school and having all visitors to the school sign in when they report to the office and wear identification tags if they are going beyond the school office (another area inside the school or outside on school property).

Some parents visit the school on a regular basis, for example, to volunteer or to go on school trips, therefore we know them very well by name and by sight.  However, with changes in staff and the community, it is evident that no one is known to everyone.  In the interest of safety we must have the same expectations of everyone who visits the school.  Anyone visiting the school must report to the school office upon arrival.  There are notices at all entrances of the school to this effect.

When you arrive at the school we ask that you sign in at the office and you will be given a visitor or volunteer sticker to wear for the duration of your visit.  This should be turned in to the office before  you leave and you will be asked to sign out at the same time.  We ask you to be faithful to observing these procedures as they are important for everyone’s safety.  We respectfully ask that you do not go unannounced to the door of your child’s classroom.  If you have to pick up your child or deliver something to your child, we will be glad to assist you in the office.
