Ms. Streker's French Class
At St. Raphael, students in Grades 4, 5, and 6 are using a method called AIM (Accelerated Integrated Method) which teaches vocabulary through the use of gestures. Through plays and songs and vocabulary games, the students are encouraged to speak French as much as possible to create a "French Only" classroom.
Grade 4
They are learning French through the play, Les trois petits cochons (The Three Little Pigs). They are learning a lot of action words (verbs), numbers 1-30 (for now), colours, body parts, school objects, ça va…(bien, mal, etc.), and more.
Grade 5 and Grade 6
They are learning French through the play Le chat et la lune. They are learning tons of verbs (We don’t conjugate though.) and building upon what was taught last year.
