VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER   

 

Last Thursday, the Varsity Girls Soccer Team played their last season game versus D’Youville. The girls played a hard fought game, conceding a goal with the game winding down. The result was 2 – 1 for D’Youville. The entire team is to be congratulated on a haed working season! To all the graduating players : Cassandra Briscoe, Hayley Christian, Mariah Poulin, Madelaine Sanginesi, Alexandra Santiago and Alexandria McIlwaine coaches Ms Slokar and Mr. Morrison thank you for a great 4 years of playing Hall soccer. We wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavours!

 

 

 

 

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER  

 

Last night, Thursday May 17, the Senior Boys Soccer Team played an outstanding game against d’Youville. Though the game ended in a zero –zero draw, the bys performed at a very high level. Their level of play was acknowledged by two head coaches from two colleges. Five Senior boys from Hall were asked if they were open to recruitment for the fall. Coach Miguel is hoping to receive a signing bonus from each of the boys who accept the offer.

 

 

 

JUNIOR BOYS SOCCER    

 

Our Junior Boys Soccer Team played their second game of the season Wenesday May 9. The entire team put in a solid effort resulting in a 3 to 1 win. Goals were scored by Josip Kozich, Harrison Gibson and Chris Bean.

 

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER  

The Senior Boys continued their winning way yesterday (Tuesday May 8) @ the Peel Cup Invitational. The Boys went 5 and 0 to win the Tournament.

 

Outstanding goal keeping from both Alex Robertson  Richard Guenette made the road trip victory easier. Goals came from Adam Baeen, Jerome Smith, Jonathan Singh, Mark Gonzalez, Claudio Saragani and Nick Arcuri. If coach Miguel missed anyone, he apologizes.

 

The Team thanks Shuana and Vickie for all their support and efforts.

 

 

 

 

VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER

 

Yesterday (May 2, 2012), the Girls Soccer Team faced St. Marcellinus. It was a hard fought match, but the girls came up short with a 2 – 1 loss. The loan goal was scored by Cassie Briscoe. Girls are reminded of their practices next week on Tuesday and Thursday. Come out and support the girls next Friday for their home game versus Aquinas.

 

 

 

 

 

JUNIOR  BOYS SOCCER TEAM

 

The Junior Soccer team won their home opener against Sandlewood 3 to 2. Goals were scored by Josip Kozich, Aidan Balzan and Javrid John. Strong defensive play by Chris Bean, Harrison Gibson, Jake Rosati and Josiah Valladares.

Congratulations to the Senior Boys for continuing their winning ways last night (April 26, 2012 with a 2 – 0 win over Notre Dame. Goals came from Jonathan Singh and Mark Anthony.

Yesterday (Tuesday, April 17, 2012) the Varsity Girls Soccer Team played their first home game against St. Augustine. The girls played a strong first game that resulted in a 2-2 tie. Goals were scored by Cassie Briscoe and Aoibheann (Aveen) Doyle.

 

Next practice is after school from 2:30 to 3:45!

Jonathan Singh scored 3 goals and Lucas Scorzafave scored a cheery free kick from just above the box. Coaches Miguel and Rob want to thank coach John Visco and manager Julianna Vatalaro for all their work.

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER

 

Congratulations must go out to the Senior Boys for their undefeated record at the illustrious and prestigious Tournament of Champions. This tournament is attended by the best schools and is considered to be the most important indoor soccer tournament for high school teams in Ontario. It is a two day event with only the winning teams advancing to the tournament of champions.

 

In order for the boys to win the tournament they had to play and defeat the Ontario defending champs twice. The championship game was tied 1 – 1 at the end of regulation time. Keeper, Alex Robertson, stopped 2 of 3 penalty kicks for the victory.

 

Goal scorers were Adam Breen, Claudio Saragani and Mark Antony Gonzalez.

 

Coaches Miguel and Rob want to thank team managers John Visco and Julianna Vatalaro and team trainer Vickie for their work and support.

 

 

 

VARSITY BOYS SOCCER TEAM

 

The Varsity Boys Soccer Team finished the regular season last night, Thursday March 29, 2012, with a 4 – 1 win over Gonzaga. Goals were scored by Adam Breen and Jonathan Singh. The boys have two weeks off before resuming play in the Tournament of Champions and play-offs for the Indoor League.

The boys continued their undefeated streak, Thursday March 22, to 6 games with a lovely display of soccer in a 4 – 1 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. Goals came from Jonathan Singh, Claudio Saragani and two goals from Lucas Scorzafave.

 

 

 

VARSITY BOYS SOCCER

 

The boys played against St. Marcellinus last night and learned about missed chances. The boys outplayed and out chanced their opponent to the extent that Marcellinus had only one shot on goal in the second half. Hall boys only managed a 1 – 1 draw. A wonderful play started by William Horton carried by Lucas Scorzafave and finished by Vittorio Sammarco was a goal of beauty.

Senior boys continued their winning ways yesterday, March 1, by defeating Gonzaga 6 – 1 in the first game of the indoor season. Goals came from Adam Breen, Markus Baker, Lucas Scorzafave, Mark Anthony Gonzalez, Claudio Saragani and Nick Arcuri.

Congratulations go out to the boys for their 3 – 0 record at the Tournament of Champions yesterday, February 27. Adam Breen was the top scorer for the day with four goals; Mark Anthony’s bicycle kick was YouTube material; Markus Baker sent a message with a cheeky goal from just above the touch line near the corner flag; William’s winning goal in the second game gave the boys a huge lift; Jerome Smith’s goal was just plain sick. The Boys were deeply moved by the appearance of Roy Seaboyer and his mum.

 

The team wants to thank assistant coach Johnny Visco, manager Julianna and trainer Vickie for a great day.

 

The Boys certainly held their own against tough competition.

 

 

 

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER

 

Last night, Wednesday January 17, the Senior Boys started their campaign to raise money for breast cancer research. The boys participated in Hall’s Grade 8 Night here at the school. The boys raised $260.00. This is the first step to the team’s goal of $1,500.00.
