The social science department believes that the study of Social Sciences helps students develop necessary critical thinking skills. These skills are fostered through discussion and analysis of both historical and contemporary issues. Students are asked to evaluate human interaction – both past and present – within their social and physical environments. Whether it be at a local, national or global level, social science students will develop the characteristics of responsible and informed citizenship. Social Science Teachers seek to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge and Catholic values which will allow them to address issues in our ever-changing world.
