GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
The goals of the St. Roch Guidance Department are to:
- enable students to become more aware of their abilities, aptitudes and interests
- assist in planning the high school and post-secondary school educational program which is the most appropriate for them.
- provide students with up-to-date information regarding careers, the workplace and current employment trends.
Individual, academic, and personal counselling are important roles of the Guidance Department. We will provide instruction in Guidance and Career Education through credit courses and individual counselling. Working collectively with students, we will guide them towards graduation and a successful transition to the post secondary challenges of apprenticeship, college, university and the workplace.
Students have been assigned a counsellor according to their last name. Appointments can be made in the Guidance Office by completing a request form.
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to get involved with their child’s learning and we invite them to contact counsellors with any concerns regarding their child. Interviews are available upon request.
