CATHOLIC COMMUNITY, CULTURE AND CARING: School Climate Survey

Beginning in March 2011, and in support of the board’s Safe, Caring, Inclusive and Healthy School Communities’ initiative, Dufferin-Peel will be administering its Catholic Community Culture and Caring School Climate Survey to students, as appropriate, in Grades 4 to 12. The data from this survey will allow our school to understand the school climate from the students’ perspectives.

REVISIONS TO THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL REPORT CARD

There have been a number of changes to the Ontario Provincial Report Card. The revisions are outlined in detail in Chapter 6 of the document Growing Success, First Edition, 2010.

HOMEWORK HELP PILOT PROJECT

The ILC operates Homework Help – a website that provides students with access to a variety of math resources, and access to free online tutoring from Ontario Teachers, Sunday to Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

AUDIT COMMITTEE RECRUITMENT

Based on direction from the Ministry of Education, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is seeking two (2) volunteer community members with financial expertise and business knowledge to serve on its Audit Committee for a three (3) year term effective February 21, 2011 to Feb. 21, 2014. The primary role of our Audit Committee is to provide assurance to the Board of Trustees that the school board has the appropriate culture, personnel, policies, systems and controls in place to safeguard the school board’s assets and to accurately report financial information to internal and external users.

 

The appointment becomes effective Feb, 21, 2011, with the first meeting to take place by March 31, 2011.
