Course Offerings

and

Course Selection Information

Students enrolling in programs at Archbishop Romero may have their academic needs met in different settings. This depends on each student's needs and the  eligibility requirements for each program. For more information, please see the brochure link on the home page.

As a guiding principle, student courses are selected in consultation with the student and his/her parents, the teachers at the site/program the student will be attending, and the guidance counselor of the school.

  • Because of the continuously changing population in our programs, course availability and offerings are subject to change regularly, and without notice.

  • Not all courses listed in the course calendar as available at Archbishop Romero will be available at all campuses.

Not all courses listed as available in the course calendar as available at Archbishop Romero will be offered every semester, and are subject to change without notice.

Courses are chosen using the following priority:

  1. Recoverable credits required for completion of grade 9 and/or 10 diploma requirements.

  2. New credits needed for completion of grade 9 and/or grade 10 diploma requirements.

  3. Recoverable credits at the grade 11 and/or grade 12 level.

  4. New credits at the grade 11 and/or grade 12 level.

It is common practice in all our Programs to offer a combination of teacher delivered and self-study courses.

Students are expected to develop their ability to work independently.

Teacher- delivered courses are programmed based on their ability to provide a new credit for a majority of the students in a program. This changes from semester to semester and year to year. These courses may be either core compulsory credits, or elective courses.
