If you’d like to learn how to collage pictures, add in missing family members, create slide shows in iPhoto or MovieMaker then this three-day session will set you on the road of photo editing excellence. Learn how to use this exciting presentation software in two days! Participants will learn how easy it is to add a visual element to their lessons, presentations, seminars, etc. This session will introduce participants to creating slides, modifying text, adding images, and using animation. An explanation of how to use a digital projector will also be provided. On day two, participants will learn advanced skills including adding video clips, game and background templates and utilizing the Internet for powerful presentations. Participants are welcome to bring any required information/material/visuals to assist them in completing their first presentation. Experience in the Windows environment is strongly recommended. You will learn how to access excellent websites that provide effective and very useful teaching resources, such as rubric makers, language and math based information and worksheets, and websites for students that are linked to curriculum expectations. You will learn various Dufferin-Peel specific tasks such as creating a heat ticket, and who to contact for assistance. Email specifics such as attaching files, creating classroom documents on Microsoft Word, preparing a PowerPoint presentation, and how to use a spreadsheet to keep track of student progress and information will also be covered. This session is aimed for teachers who wish to develop basic computer skills to support their teaching. This session is suitable for BOTH PC and MAC users.
