Don’t have a visual arts background? Don’t stress. This hands-on session will provide participants with a framework for teaching the new Arts Curriculum. It will also incorporate the new visual arts resources. Resources for using picture books to teach the elements and principles of design will be shared. Leave with teacher-created art samples, grade level workbooks, lesson plans, assessment tools, and tasks which incorporate other subjects, as well as the confidence to infuse these skills into other subjects. A materials fee of $10.00 will be collected at the session.

The vehicle STOMP will be used to explore the elements of dance (body, space, time, energy and relationships) and the creative and critical analysis processes. Students engage with STOMP as a ‘cool’ form of creative expression in which they are not self-conscious, allowing the teacher to achieve the curriculum in a low risk and fun environment. Come prepared to move and enjoy.
