School Dress Code

Since the establishment of St. Sofia School, the school administration and parents agreed to promote a uniform for the students.  This dress code has preserved and enhanced the unique character of St. Sofia School.  It is essential that we all support the uniform to ensure it’s success.  Students are expected to come to school dressed properly in their school uniforms.  This promotes pride in our school and school spirit.

Donations:

We are proud that students at our school wear uniforms. However, we understand that children grow quickly and that change of uniform may become costly.  Therefore, we ask that you donate your child(ren’s) uniform to school if they have grown out of their uniforms or have graduated.  Uniforms should be in good condition.

Civvies Day

Civvies Day will be held once a month. It is expected that all students will dress in clean, neat and practical clothing.

Civies guidelines are:

  • The top of the pants must meet the bottom of the shirt with no exposure of midriff or undergarments at anytime.
  • Shorts must be walking shorts which are neither too tight, too short or tattered.
  • Halter tops, spaghetti strap tops, tank tops/muscle shirts and mesh shirts may not be worn by any student.
  • Clothing with offensive, suggestive, and/or inappropriate statements or pictures are not permitted.
  • Sunglasses (non-prescriptive), hats, headbands and other headwear must be removed before entering the school building.

Inclement weather:

All students are expected to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Often children’s clothing becomes wet from playing in the snow. Snowpants or keeping a change of pants, socks and gloves at school would be very beneficial, especially if no one is home during the day and/or parents work far from the school.
