The main objective of the extended day Ukrainian Program has been and is the education of its students in Ukrainian language and culture in order that they may retain their Ukrainian Heritage. The school has been able to instill in these students a strong sense of their identity as Canadians of Ukrainian descent an understanding of their responsibility to carry forward the Ukrainian tradition. Over the last few years, the school has received an influx of new students from Ukraine who desire to retain their cultural heritage as they assimilate into Canadain culture.

The Ukrainian program aims to develop strong fundamental Ukrainian language skills in oral communication ( listening and speaking), reading , writing , history and geography and to provide students with an understanding of the rich culture and traditions of Ukrainian people by integrating cultural study into daily language instruction.

In addition to language instruction, the Ukrainian Program organizes various cultural and fun activities during the school year ( e.g. Svitchechka, Commemoration of Forced Famine,Taras Shevchenko Concert, Pysanky ( Easter egg) workshops, and Hahilky).
