St. Veronica School Mission Statement

The mission of St. Veronica Catholic School Community is to provide, in a responsible manner, a Catholic Education which develops the various capabilities of each individual to live fully today and to meet the challenges of the future, thus enriching our community. We are dedicated and committed to the building of a strong partnership between home, school and parish to help our children grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, morally and socially in the image of Christ.

The Story of St. Veronica

St. Veronica was a religious woman who accompanied Jesus on the road to Calvary. As she witnessed Jesus suffering, Veronica offered her veil to Jesus so he could wipe his drops of agony from his face. Jesus accepted her offer and returned the veil to her with his image impressed upon it.  It is said that those who touched the sacred veil thereafter would be healed from the pain and suffering.

The connection between Jesus'image and its power to heal those suffering, was one of the important inspirations that strengthened Veronica's faith and devotion to God.

Veronica's faith, compassion and devotional support to help Jesus through his difficult journey is a moving example of what Christianity represents; loving and respecting one another as God's creation, while nurturing our souls and spirits through faith prayer and faith.
