New Catholic elementary school opens in Brampton this fall
On September 5, summer vacation ends for 81,000 Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board students, as the 2017-18 school year gets underway at the board's 149 schools.
This year, Dufferin-Peel will open a new elementary school located at 120 Veterans Drive in Brampton. St. Daniel Comboni Catholic Elementary School, is a 60,320 square foot facility that can accommodate up to 553 students and features a two room childcare centre for toddlers and preschoolers. Staff and students will celebrate the official opening of the school on September 5 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

The Board will also break ground this year on two additional elementary schools in the Town of Caledon and Brampton. The new schools (names to be determined) will open in September 2018.

It serves over 81,000 students in 149 schools located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville. With over 11,000 employees, the board is also one of the largest employers in the region.
