On Thursday, November 20, 2008, St. Joseph Secondary School library was dedicated as The Arthur R. Steffler Memorial Library in memory of Art Steffler, former Trustee and Chair of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and long-time Streetsville resident. The unveiling and blessing of the memorial plaque was attended by Mrs. Helen Steffler and other representatives of the Steffler family, as well as representatives from the Parish, the Board, trustees, school staff, parents and students.

Dufferin-Peel Trustees and local MPPs meet for discussion of education issues

On October 1, Dufferin-Peel trustees met with local MPPs to discuss education-related issues. Due to scheduling conflicts, the annual meeting was attended by only three of the seven local Members of Provincial Parliament Linda Jeffrey (Brampton Springdale), Amrit Mangat (Mississauga Brampton South) and Charles Sousa (Mississauga South).

Trustees presented a briefing document for discussion that covered a range of issues of importance to the board and the Dufferin-Peel community. The document has been sent to all MPPs in the Dufferin-Peel jurisdiction as well as the Minister of Education.
