The Personal Support Worker program trains the adult learner to provide or assist with personal care for the elderly, the chronically ill and people with physical disabilities living in the community, in long-term care facilities and in select ambulatory settings.
This course emphasizes technological applications in the areas of health care and personal services. Students will learn to describe and evaluate professional practices and principles; to select and use technical resources to solve problems; and to use materials, tools, and equipment safely.
They will also acquire transferable skills for changing work environments, personal management skills, and knowledge of entry requirements for careers in this area.

Applicants for this program must be proficient in English (CLB 7) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Classes: Monday to Friday 9:30 am-2:30pm
Co-op Placements: 2 terms, Monday to Friday, various daytime schedule

Students can earn up to seven (7) Ontario Secondary School Credits and obtain a PSW Certificate.
Cost of the Program:
Tuition is funded by The Ministry of Education.
The material fee for the program is the responsibility of the learner: $1,500 can be paid in three installments of $500.
