We would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to two amazing students, Akua Boampong and Ava Stewart, Ascensions Mental Health Champions

Akua and Ava were the successful candidates selected out of over 200 applicants to represent Ascension and Malton in a Board wide program that was offered over the summer.  The Summer Mental Health Champions program was a paid internship that took place for a week in July of 2021.  Akua and Ava participated in mental health training and helped to create faith based, youth friendly, diverse mental health resources and content to help support student mental health.  They are leaders in mental health and are able to share information and direct peers to mental health supports.  Last week, they were presented with certificates and swag to represent the successful completion of the program.
