OLMC SPECIAL GRAD AWARDS
There are several special grad awards given to students at the graduation ceremony. These awards are intended for students with special qualities. Students can self-nominate for 12 of the 13 awards.

LIST OF OLMC GRAD AWARDS
1. The Canadian Citizenship Award
Student should contribute to school and community in significant way. Student has achieved academic success.
The Lieutenant-Governor’s Community Volunteer Award
Student should exhibit dedication to volunteer work in the community. This is for the students who go above and beyond the required volunteer hours. This is for students who demonstrate exemplary community contributions or outstanding achievement through volunteer activity.
3. The Student Catholic Leadership Award
This student has shown leadership during their years at Mount Carmel. This student has best exemplified their Catholic faith and followed the Catholic School Philosophy.
4. Chaplaincy Award
This student has worked closely with the Chaplain to promote faith within the school community. This student is committed to living out the Pastoral theme through Chaplaincy initiatives and leadership programs.
5. Saint Oscar Romero Award
This student has promoted social justice through community involvement. This student has led and participated in initiatives that work towards improving the human condition.
6. School Council Award
This student has achieved the greatest overall growth. This student demonstrated diligence and perseverance in the face of adverse circumstances.
7. The Edward King Memorial Scholarship
This student is pursuing post-secondary education and has achieved academic excellence. This student has extra-curricular involvement at OLMC and shows Christian commitment at OLMC.
8. Principal’s Leadership Award
This student has demonstrated exemplary leadership roles in the school (Principal chooses recipient).
9. The OLMC Courage Award (female recipient)
This student will be pursuing post-secondary education (college or university education). This student is a leader and contributor in the school community. This student is involved in community events outside the school.
10. The Terry Lane Humanitarian Knights of Columbus Award (male recipient)
This student will be pursuing post-secondary education (college or university education). This student is a leader and contributor in the school community. This student is involved in community events outside the school. Financial needs may be a deciding factor.
11. McCarthy Scholarship Award
This student makes a significant contribution to the quality of student life. This student strives for excellence in the tradition of Catholic education.
12. The Rotary Club Scholarship (male recipient)
This is for a student pursuing post-secondary education. This award is for students who volunteer in the community on an ongoing basis.
13. The Rotary Club Scholarship (female recipient)
This is for a student pursuing post-secondary education. This award is for students who volunteer in the community on an ongoing basis.
