There are many
leadership opportunities and programs at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary
School. Students are encouraged to take
an active role in the Leadership process and become active members of the
Gonzaga Christian Community.
Gonzaga Jr. Leaders
Overview:
Jr. Leaders are selected from the incoming grade 10 class. Jr. Leaders begin their "Gonzaga" leadership journey in grade 10 as they enhance and strengthen their leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Jr. Leaders is a valuable organization to the Gonzaga community and truly help support the pillars of Gonzaga - Chaplaincy, Gonzaga Student Body, Gonzaga Administration & Staff, Gonzaga Clubs and Teams and the Gonzaga House System.

2020-2021 Jr. Leaders

Gonzaga Prefects
Overview:
Prefects are selected each June from the incoming grade 11 and 12 class. Prefects represent the school, liaise with administration, promote school activities and spirit, act as positive role models for the entire school, and assist Gonzaga's athletic teams and social/academic clubs and groups.

Gonzaga Student Board of Directors and House Heads:
Overview:
The role of Board of Directors/House Heads is to provide Gonzaga Prefects with a more commited and active role of leadership for the Gonzaga community. They will communicate information to the Prefects within their Gonzaga House.
In addition, House Heads are to be an active planner, organizer, and leader of the Gonzaga Student Leadership program. In addition, to supporting the GSL, each House Head will be responsible for one of the six (6) Committee posts. (Athletics / Clubs & Groups, Communication & Student Voice, Events, House System, Media, and Mentorship/Peer Tutoring/Gonzaga Sibling Program/Safe @ Gonzaga)
The FIVE components of the Gonzaga Student Leadership Program are responsible for supporting the five (5) pillars of St. Aloysius Gonzaga S.S.

Gonzaga Student Leadership Head Prefects
Overview:
The Gonzaga Head Prefects are selected annually by the Gonzaga Prefect Advisors. The Head Prefects are the face of the Gonzaga Student Leadership program. They will assist with the planning and direction of the student leadership program and work with all elements of student leaders to ensure that all students needs are met.

The Gord Des Cotes Award (top Board of Director) & Gonzaga Top Prefect Award
Overview:
Annually two Prefects are chosen by their peers as the Top Prefects of the year. They are presented with this award at the annual Gonzaga House Leadership Gala. In 2021, Gonzaga Student Leadership Added a new award in Memory of Mr. G. Des Cotes. Mr. Des Cotes was a staff advisor of Gonzaga Student Leadership who passed away during the 2020-2021 school year. To recognize his hard work, energy, and passion the GSL created this award in his honour.
