Good Shepherd Catholic Elementary School
Good Shepherd Elementary School, which is at 28 Red River Drive in Bramalea, opened in September 2001 with construction still going on. It was Blessed n May 26th, 2002. Built to accomodate the fast growth in Springdale, Good Shepherd was the largest elementary School in the DPCDSB at the time. It opened wit 567 students and 37 staff members and by September 2003 it had grown to a student population of 798. Today the population is approximately 370 students from over 100 cultural backgrounds.
The School is named after Jesus The Good Shepherd and the school community strives to model itself on Christ. The Motto is "Live in Charity and Love and God will Dwell with You."
Good Shepherd School is part of the St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish. Good Shepherd does numerous community service projects at St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, including raising funds for church bulding projects and supporting the Christmas Helping Hands program and Sharelife. Through out the years, the Youth Faith Ambassadors and students at the school have been involved in many projects such as volunteering at the warehouse of Canadian Food for Children, visiting seniors' homes, Food Drives and other community service initiatives.
