Iona Catholic Secondary School
REGIONAL ARTS PROGRAM
Music, Dance, Drama, Visual & Media Arts
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ARTS
Each one of us has a voice we use to navigate through this sometimes confusing world. Often, we are in pursuit of many ideas and thoughts, yet the best way to bring them into clear, concrete expression- whether abstract or narrative, infused with our unique emotions- comes into manifestation without the use of words.
It is here that the Arts step onto the stage of our lives, bridging the gap in our understanding of how to access the tools we need for authentic self-expression. Through daily practice and refinement of the arts - whether it be Dance, Drama, Music or Digital and Visual Arts- young artists are able to discover their strengths and passions through the innovative process of creation. Working within a community of like-minded peers, mentors and professionals who are equally dedicated to growth creates a supportive environment where students can explore and discover freely without judgment.
