October 2018 Update

A few weeks ago, SEVEN members of the Iona Tennis Team won first place in the region’s southwest qualifying tournament in order to qualify for the ROPSSAA Championship Tournament which took place on Friday, October 19.  Iona has never had such strong representation at ROPSSAA, so that was already quite an accomplishment. Our tenacious tennis team continued on their path to victory when six out of seven players made it to the semi-finals and both the Junior Mixed Doubles players, Michelle and Matthew Blanchette, and the Senior Boys Doubles players, Daniel Blanchette and Jason Xhavara, made it to the finals and won silver metals.  We wish Daniel and Jason a lot of luck as they train to represent Iona at OFSAA in the Spring.
