Chess Club

Coaches: Ms. Jaksa and Mrs. Poradzisz

This year, about 20 students participated in the St. John XXIII Chess Club. The chess club ran for approximately 2 months. During this time the students improved their chess skills and demonstrated enthusiasm, determination and good sportsmanship while practicing chess with one another. The 5 top students from each division represented our school at the Mississauga South Chess Tournament which was held at the beginning of March. Both our intermediate and junior teams demonstrated remarkable skill and effort throughout the course of the tournament. 

Congratulations to Anna, Dylan, Nathan, Tyler, Chris M., Paul, Alek, Sana, Alanna and Keelin and the rest of the chess club members for a terrific season! Both Ms. Jaksa and Mrs. Poradzisz are proud of you!
