The Arts at St. John XXIII
A strong art-based extracurricular program is thriving at St. John XXIII School through the following spectrum of activities:
Intermediate Craft Club:

The intermediate students in grades 7 and 8 enjoyed participating in this year's Craft Club. Students made two Christmas ornaments, a pinecone owl and a pinecone moose. Students enjoyed the festive atmosphere and are looking forward to next year's craft club.

This creative club invites grade 6 students to explore the beautiful gifts and seasonal decorations they can create with their very own hands and minds. Tinsel trees, spoon reindeer and snowmen ornaments are just some of the crafty creations that our members uniquely assemble in a workshop that could easily compete with Santa’s! Family members truly enjoy the wonderful crafts made with love and pride by members of the Junior Craft Club.

Clay, Sculpture and Ceramics Club:
Instructor: R. Valeri-Lutz
This hands-on club invites students to create 3-D works of art with various mediums including clay, metal, wood and other found objects. Members also explore the ceramics strand with a specific focus on glazing and staining techniques. Beautiful themes which emphasize the Catholic curriculum have been embraced by the club including our “Family of Hope and Peace” community motto. Colourful butterflies, sculpted blossoms and rustic crosses will greet you in our front foyer as on-going symbols of our belief in the virtue of HOPE!
