Library Policies and Expectations
The purpose of the SMSS and Courtneypark Library is to provide a space with a wide and inclusive range of resources to support learning and teaching throughout the school; to have a vibrant role in the development of a school culture that promotes reading, motivated readers, and learners for life; to provide a place of collaborative learning, creativity, and for developing independent research and information literacy skills. Because we are a shared facility, it is important that we respect Library policies and public patrons at all times.
Quiet Group Study is permitted on the lower level only. Please ensure that you are being respectful of public patrons at all times.
Group Study Rooms may be booked with a library card for study groups of 3 or 8 people. Please respect this space and utilize the room for academic purposes only.
The upper level (fiction, magazines, and newspapers) is reserved for Grade 12 students (silent study) during the school day. If you require a book or magazine from the upper level, a staff member will be glad to assist you.
Please refrain from eating and drinking, using cell phones and audible audio equipment.
