Summer Programs

Carleton University: Summer 2017 Imagine Architecture is designed for grade 10-12 students who are interested in design and would like to get some experience in creative design thinking to help them decide on a career pathway. Taught by PhD students in the Architecture program, these  fun and intensive workshops will introduce students to the creative culture of design studio, which is at the core of the Architectural Studies curriculum.

ROPE - Obtain experience working with Ryerson engineering researchers (aimed at grade 11 females). apply by April 1, 2017 

Interested in Medicine? FREE mentorship program, run by medical students, for: 

  • students in their last year of high school, 
  • going to an Ontario University next year, and 
  • are interested in the health care field

Queen's Summer Engineering Academy: Queen’s offers an introductory engineering experience for students entering grades 10 to 12.  With both residential and day options available, EngAGE is an engineering-focused educational summer camp that exposes your child to the fields of Chemical, Civil, Electrical & Computing, and Mechanical engineering.  Using lab facilities and thought-provoking team projects, your child will collaborate with peers and learn leadership skills while experiencing a broad engineering overview. http://tinyurl.com/jlcetpv 

LEAD Program: The Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) Program is a summer programwhose mission is to engage youth of diverse backgrounds to convert high potential into high chievement and responsible leadership. The LEAD Program’s goal is to expose students to a variety of career options in business so that they might make informed choices when deciding on a course of university study and considering career options. 

Camp Peak: Camp PEAK, Pursuing Excellence Achievement Knowledge is committed to connecting individually with each camper and ensuring that they have the experience of a lifetime. Camp PEAK is dedicated to the needs of each individual camper and the outcomes that can exist after time spent with us. It is our goal to ‘Challenge by Choice’ encouraging each child to become ‘A Better You’ through active participation, decision making, problem solving and team building.

Youth Summer Programs:Law & Medicine @ UofT 

Boundless: Our Four-Credit summer program involves having a student participate on three of the four 13-day programs noted above (39 days total of outdoor adventure education in July/August). A student must also spend an additional 20 hours of experiential education programming (contact us for more details). In doing so, a student earns a total of 4 credits towards their high school diploma.

DEEP: The da Vinci Engineering Enrichment Program (DEEP) provides gifted and highly motivated high school students the opportunity for advanced study in a variety of engineering disciplines. DEEP offers the most diverse range of pre-university engineering and science courses in North America. This intense program has been designed exclusively for students who excel in math and science and are looking for a true academic challenge. The program will expose students to concepts and topics beyond the regular secondary curriculum.

LEAP: The Learning Enrichment Advancement Program (LEAP) is a summer camp run by the Engineering Alumni Office at McMaster University. The purpose of the camp is to encourage high school student’s interest in engineering and focus on expanding their knowledge in a creative learning environment.

Centre for Students with Disabilities at Centennial College (summer program for high school kids *FREE) - They provide the counselling, support, advocacy and accommodations; the motivation and determination come from you. With dedication and hard work, along with a little help from your friends, reveal your genius!

Project Advance: Project Advance is a 6 week summer program to prepare high school students with specific learning disabilities for the challenges of university. Often, familiar supports may not be as available to the student (e.g., parents, teachers, and coaches), requiring increased motivation, organization, responsibility, and assertiveness. Students with learning disabilities increase their awareness of the challenges of university and of the skills required for success.  *Phone:  416-736-5297

Shad Valley: Shad Valley is a four week summer enrichment program. Students spend a month living in residence at one of our host university campuses across Canada. The program is offered to students currently completing grade 10, 11 or 12

McMaster University LEAP: Experience the exciting world of engineering! Problem-solving skills for real-life situations. The Learning Enrichment Advancement Program introduces high school students to the fundamentals of engineering through lectures, hands-on activities, labs, industry tours & projects. Program incorporates activities that will develop leadership skills, ingenuity, creativity and perseverance in combination with technical knowledge, enabling students to create solutions to multifaceted problems.
