Dear Parents of the St. Valentine Community,
St. Valentine is promoting "Litter-less Lunches" in our school community. St. Valentine wants to introduce this program to our school, where students can have lunch without straining the environment. This lunch will save the waste of expensive plastic wraps, aluminum foils, plastic bags, plastic spoons and forks.
Trash has been a concern all over the world for years, and at St. Valentine, our students have been learning about our environment and how to keep it clean and tidy. But our students want to take it one step closer, so we are reaching out to you to have every Friday as a "Litter-less Lunch" Day.
Here are some ideas to help reduce our trash:
- Use reusable utensils, containers, and thermoses
- Use reusable lunch bags
- Use snacks purchased in bulk sizes and put them in containers
- Pack reusable bottles instead of plastic water bottles and juice boxes
- Bring in washable cloth napkins instead of disposable ones.
These are just some ideas, but you can add more ideas to help the environment. Please help us as we help our environment as a community.
Yours truly,
St. Valentine's Environmental Club
