coronavirus-information

On March 31, the Minister of Education officially extended the closure of schools in Ontario to May 1 for teachers and May 4 for students, to further prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The decision to close is in alignment with the Ministerial directive to close schools, as well as with the recommendations of the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, who stated that it is incumbent upon all of us to help "flatten the curve" of this major public health threat and that social distancing is one of the ways that is effective in reducing the risk of transmission. Note that, while schools, offices and facilities are closed, business functions will continue. In addition, we will continue to facilitate communications through the DPCDSB website (www.dpcdsb.org), through our social media channels, Twitter and Facebook (@DPCDSBSchools) and Instagram (@dpcdsb.schools).

If there is an urgent need to connect with DPCDSB administrative offices, this may be done by email through our communications@dpcdsb.org email account. We will continue to post and relay information we receive from our public health authorities, as well as from the Province, to our DPCDSB community to ensure that you are kept apprised of any developments that impact our schools and operations. We encourage you to review our Community Information Bulletins and other posted information, including the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS to help you with some of the questions you may have.
